Doane Chilcoat, Ph.D.

Doane Chilcoat, Ph.D., serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Design Therapeutics. Before joining Design, he led the Applied Science and Technology organization at DuPont, overseeing a team of 400 global scientists specializing in molecular biology disciplines, including genetic engineering, genomics, high-throughput genotyping, and synthetic biology. Earlier in his career, Dr. Chilcoat held leadership roles at Cobax Biopharma and Replidyne. He spent eight years at McKinsey & Company as a leader in the pharmaceutical practice, working in Los Angeles and Chicago. Additionally, he served as the Chief Technology Officer for the state of Iowa and as Chair of Genome Canada’s Science Advisory Board. Dr. Chilcoat earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology from the University of Chicago.
