Welcome to the website (the “Website”) of Design Therapeutics, Inc. (“DesignTx,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how DesignTx processes personal information that we collect through our digital or online properties or services that link to this Privacy Policy (including as applicable, our Website, mobile application, social media pages, and other activities described in this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Use. Before using the Service or submitting any Personal Data to Design Therapeutics through the Service, please review this Privacy Policy carefully and contact us if you have any questions. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not access the Website or otherwise use the Service. We may provide additional or supplemental privacy policies to individuals for specific products or services that we offer at the time we collect personal information.  This Privacy Policy does not describe how we collect, use and disclose information about you collected outside of the Service, for example, with your involvement with a clinical trial. We collect information that alone or in combination with other information in our possession could be used to identify you (“Personal Data”), as further described below.

Personal Data You Provide: We collect Personal Data from you when you elect to interact with us through the Services. The Personal Data we collect varies depending on what you choose to share, but it may include your name, email, company name, and telephone number (Contact Data).

Internet Activity Data: When you visit, use, and interact with the Service, we may receive certain information about your visit, use, or interactions. For example, we may monitor the number of people that visit the Service, peak hours of visits, which page(s) are visited, the domains our visitors come from, and which browsers people use to access the Service, broad geographical information, and navigation pattern. In particular, the following information is created and automatically logged in our systems:

Browser Web Storage

Flash Technology

We may use Flash cookies (which are also known as Flash Local Shared Object (“Flash LSOs”)) on our Website to collect and store information about your use of our Website. Unlike other cookies, Flash cookies cannot be removed or rejected via your browser settings. If you do not want Flash LSOs stored on your computer or mobile device, you can adjust the settings of your Flash player to block Flash LSO storage using the tools contained in the Website Storage Settings Panel. Web Beacons

We may also use web beacons (which are also known as pixel tags and clear GIFs) on our Website and in our HTML formatted emails to track the actions of users on our Website and interactions with our emails. Unlike cookies, which are stored on the hard drive of your computer or mobile device by a website, pixel tags are embedded invisibly on webpages or within HTML formatted emails. Pixel tags are used to demonstrate that a webpage was accessed or that certain content was viewed, typically to measure the success of our marketing campaigns or engagement with our emails and to compile statistics about usage of the Website, so that we can manage our content more effectively.

In certain circumstances we may share the categories of Personal Data described above without further notice to you, unless required by the law, with the following categories of third parties:

  • Vendors and Service Providers: To assist us in meeting business operations needs and to perform certain services and functions, we may share Personal Data with vendors and service providers, including providers of hosting services, cloud services, and other information technology services providers, email communication software and email newsletter services and analytics services. Pursuant to our instructions, these parties will access, process, or store Personal Data in the course of performing their duties to us.
  • Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of all or a portion of our assets, or transition of service to another provider (collectively a “Transaction”), your Personal Data and other information may be shared in the diligence process with counterparties and others assisting with the Transaction and transferred to a successor or affiliate as part of that Transaction along with other assets.
  • Legal Requirements: If required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements, (ii) protect and defend our rights or property, (iii) prevent fraud, (iv) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Service, or the public, or (v) protect against legal liability.

Our Service is not directed to children who are under the age of 18. Design Therapeutics does not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of 18. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 16 has provided Personal Data to Design Therapeutics through the Service please contact us and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases.

The Service may contain links to other websites not operated or controlled by Design Therapeutics, including social media services (“Third Party Websites”). The information that you share with Third Party Websites will be governed by the specific privacy policies and terms of service of the Third Party Websites and not by this Privacy Policy. We implement a number of technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect Personal Data both online and offline from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, security risk is inherent in all internet and information technologies and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. In addition, we are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Service, or third-party websites.

We are headquartered in the United States and may use service providers that operate in other countries. By using the Services, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to the United States or other locations where privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your state, province, or country.
